The ongoing advances in the fields of hardware platforms, sensors, and data fusion algorithms lead to whole new orchestration of applications in the domain of Smart Sensor Networks. New challenges arise concerning communication middlewares and protocols for these systems due to the interconnection of various hardware platforms becoming integrated into cooperating networks.
This work presents self-organizing access-centric storage algorithms for geographically distributed ad-hoc sensor networks which process location-based data. It enables developers and maintainers of self-organizing networks to concentrate on their domain-specific algorithmic developments while the storage middleware manages and optimizes storage locations adaptively based on the current demands.
