Within this cumulative disseration in the field of Human Resource Education and Management, Opportunity Recognition competence is modeled and measured within the context of Vocational Education and Training. It is focused on German industrial clerk apprentices at the end of their 2- to 3-year apprenticeship program. Building on a systematic literatiure review and, therefore, theoretical competence modeling process (Essay 1), Opportunity Recognition is measured within a real-life context (Essay 2). Additionally, an already installed assessment is examined for structural validity aspects (Essay 3).
