The NV center in diamond as a point-like defect is perfectly suited to be used as a probe in scanning probe microscopy. Here, the NV center is employed in the microscopy of magnetic fields in three different applications. These are constant magnetic field microscopy, broadband magnetic field noise imaging and nanoscale nuclear magnetic resonance imaging.
