Zusammenfassung / Abstract

Over the last two decades the ever-increasing demand for short range wireless devices used for the internet-of-things (IoT), smart home applications, wireless personal area networks (WPAN) and cyber-physical systems (CPS) has set a trend of on-going integration, higher power efficiency and enhanced functionality of wireless transceivers. This thesis introduces and investigates power efficient receiver frontends for short range communication applications. Novel receiver topologies have been implemented. The results provide various opportunities for engineers to achieve the balance between hardware performance and power dissipation.
