Zusammenfassung / Abstract

Density-layered shallow water flows occur naturally at estuaries and sea gates, for example. The governing partial differential equations are the Navier-Stokes equations, which are numerically complex. Thus, simplified sets of equations and specialized numerical schemes are of interest in the simulation of such flows. The present work considers several current approaches and finally describes a layer adaptive scheme with numerical treatment of viscous terms to simulate density layered flows.
