Zusammenfassung / Abstract

Under the overarching topic of mixed conducting polymers and modifications of chemical structures through electrochemistry three topics were pursued during this doctoral thesis. All three topics utilize electrochemistry in combination with traditional synthesis in different ways and show electrochemistry to be a versatile tool for chemical synthesis as well as the analysis of already synthesized compounds. These three topics range from electrochemically inducing chemical reactions to irreversibly and reversibly switch between two compounds, electropolymerization followed up by polymer-analogous reactions of the synthesized materials, and electrochemical post-processing of 3D architectures to induce and track their electrochromic response.
